Harris, 22, of 2334 Rio Grande NW*A coroner's Jury verdict has been withheld pending an autopsy and complelion Of the investigation*Investigating o/Iiccrs said Officer Harris was found at the residence cf a long-time friend* Benjamin F. Dick* 27, of 11 Garden Park Circle NWP rear. apartment, shortly after 3 a.m* Harris had a bullet wound In the left aide of his head and the slug emerged behind the right temple.Officers told this story ai gathered from Mr. Dick:Officer Harris and Dick hid been drinking at Dick's apart ment since about midnight. During the course of the eve* nlng, Harris removed a sub-nosed JS caliber gun from hi belt, showed It to Dick and laid It on thi UMt betweenthem,Dick told' officers he remov ed the shells from the gtm anc put the gun In a pocket of hi shirt. After a while, the. gur was placed back on the table. Harris knocked the shells t the floor and then asked Dick to pick them up and put then back in the gun.This was done and Harris asked for the gun and was quoted as saying ‘hand me the gun, Vm not afraid of it.M He reportedly look the gun from the table, placed il to his head and pulled the trigger.
