TwoCitizen’s Band UnitInvites New MembersLOCK HAVEN - The Citizen’s Band Civil Defense Unit of Clinton County met on March 21 in the Emergency Operation Center in the basement of Susque-View. A pilot volunteer steering committee was appointed, Edward J. Cox, coordinator; Kerry Stover and L»2 Pettingill, assistant coordinators.The purpose of the unit is to provide reliable information during times of emergency at any level throughout Clinton County.Volunteers present recognized the potential use of citizen band communication for on the spot information as witnessed during the recent ice emergency. At that time residents of the county were kept informed of existing conditions through a citizen band communications network operating under the Bald Eagle Creek Flood Watch Warning Committee in accordance with FCC Rule 95.121. Those present felt that this operation could be expanded so a communications system could become functional in all types of emergency throughout the county, andtherefore organized a Citizens Band for Civil Defense Volunteer Unit.A temporary committee was appointed to set up a communications network. The coordinator of this committee is D.G. Reinhold and members are: Doyle Lamey, Loganton; Lucy Zimmerman, Lamar; Paul Strasser, Mackcyville; Floyd Hill, Salona; Charles Gundlach, Beech Creek; Jeff Edwards, Avis; Allen Muthler, Flemington; Robert Dugan, Woolrich; Andrew Pruey, Renovo Road; Joyce Getz, Renovo; Joseph Hess, Renovo; William LeKites, Jr., Lock Haven,and William Sanford, Westport.At Ihe present time, the organization is inviting interested individuals or groups to attend the next general meeting to be held on Monday, March 28, at 7 p.m. in the dining room at Susque-View.
