Hautala, 1714 Graydon Avenue, became the bride of William J. Lake, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Lake, Sr., 421 North Tenth Street, at a 7:30 p.m. candlelight wedding ceremony held on Saturday, December 11, at the First Methodist church. The Rev. J. Wesley Johnston, Pastor, officiated at the double ring ceremony.Mrs. Ronald Oliphant, as organist, accompanied soloist, Miss Karen Aase, who sang “I Love Thee” and ‘‘The Lord’s Prayer.”The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a white floor length gown of satin semi-bell skirt. The gown featured a scooped neckline and elbow length sleeves. The bodice and skirt were accented with tiny seed pearls and a lace design. Her headpiece was made of petals and loops caught by silk illusion veiling. She carried a white Bible topped with a bouquet of golden roses with white streamers trimmed with golden altar roses.ifMrs. James Anderson (Linda), sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a floor length Empire style sheath gown with a yellow chiffon skirt and gold brocade bodice with a square neckline and elbow length sleeves. The dress had a detachable gold brocade train Her headpiece was a matching gold pillbox hat. She carried a gold long stemmed rose.Mrs. Kristine Olson, the groom’s grandmother, was an honored guest. She was presented with a white carnation shoulder corsage for the special occasion.The bride’s mother wore a mint green lace two piece dress with matching accessories and a shoulder corsage of white carnations.The groom’s mother wore a blue wool knit one piece dress with navy and white accessories and a shoulder corsage of pink carnations.James Anderson, brother-in-law of the bride, was bestman. John B. Erickson and Leslie Roberts, Jr., were ushers.Following the ceremony a reception was held in the church parlors. A three tiered wedding ! cake centered the bridal table and flanked by wedding bells. Pine branches decorated the guest tables. Martha Circle of the church was in charge of arrangements.Mr. and Mrs. John Kurtzman of Avon, acted as host and hostess.Mrs. Bill Albers and Mrs. Marian Cossette poured coffee; Mrs. Robert Thompson and Mrs. Joe Quinlan cut the wedding cake; Miss Luanne Hautala and Miss Kathy Albers served punch; Miss Mary Cockrell, Miss Connie Klema of Roseau and Miss Judy Shortridge of St. Paui, opened the many gifts; Miss Mary DeRosier and Larry Svir were in charge of the guest book.The groom is a graduate of the Washington High school, Brainerd Junior college and will graduate in January fnom the University of North Dakota.The bride is a graduate of the Washington High school and is a senior at the University of Minnesota.Mr. and Mrs. Lake will be at home after January in Minneapolis.
