Hicks - ZeilerBOISSEVAIN 'Special) - St.I Paul's United Church was the ! scene of a wedding June 2.; when Marilyn Irene, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Zeiler of Boissevain, exchanged marriage vows with Mr. Douglas George Hicks, only son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hicks, of Wakopa. Rev. James Maxwell officiated at the double ring ceremony.The bride chose a floor length gown of chiffon over taffeta. The fitted bodice was designed with a rounded neckline studded with sequins and long petal point sleeves. The bouffant skirt was appliqued with three lace motifs across the front. A pearl and crystal drop tiara held her chapel length veil and she carried a bouquet of red sweetheart roses.Attending the bride were her sister, Mrs. William Lonsdale of Austin, as matron of honor: Miss Noreen Sweeney, as bridesmaid and Miss Barbara Zeiler, sister of the bride, asjunior bridesmaid. They wore identical street length dresses in yellow, blue \ind coral respectively with matching headdresses and carried miniature and feathered carnations of matching hues.Mr. John Baker of Brandon, attended the groom and theguests were ushered by Mr.Melvin Zeiler, brother of the bride, and Mr. Mel Hicks, ofWakopa, cousin of the groom.Following the ceremony a reception was held in the Legion Hall. Mr. Ralph Washington of Brandon, uncle of the bride, proposed the toast to the bride.For travelling the bride chose a turquoise linen two-piece dress with white accessories and a corsage of lily-of-the-valley. Following a wedding trip to Banff and other western points, Mr. and Mrs. Hicks will reside at WrakopaOut-of-towm guests included Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hicks.
