A Desprving Increase.We are pleased to note that our old personal friend, John Titterington, of Alt. Pleasant, formerly of Grant township, has been allowed an increase on his pension rating. Air. Titterington was a brave and tme patriot. When he offered his services to his country he was not subject to military duty as he was beyond the age prescribed tor the draff, but his son Aaron was tired with patriotism and enlisted and1 the father accompanied him. The son was lost in the Wilderness light and the father was taken prisoner and suffered all the tortures of the southern prisons. When exchanged he was hut a shadow of his termer self, a broken down man. He says of Hon. E. E. Allen, of Blairsville, who was a prisonei at the time same and place. “Had it not been for the kindness of Allen I would have died. George Spaulding also credits Allei with saving his life.
