. New Castle man died yesterday afternoon after being stabbed earlier that morning. David Griffin Jr., 30, of 409 Reis St. died at 3:45 p.m. in St. Francis Hospital. Lawrence County Coroner J. Russell Noga ruled the death a criminal homicide as the result of a stab wound to the stomach. Lawrence Williams, 34, of 605 Highland Ave. was arrested on charges of criminal homicide after admitting to stabbing Griffin. Williams was arraigned before District Justice David B. Rishe] and lodged in the Lawrence County Jail without bond. Police said they responded to a call about 8:30 a.m. yesterday about an assault behind the Towne Mall near the Rent Way en trance where they learned of a confrontation between the two men.
