Paul Ausborn, CNR Sup erintendent in The Pas for the last two years was hon oured last week by C.N.R. employees at a banquet held in the NorLite Hall. During the evening Mr. Ausborn and his wife Marie, were presented with a leather wallet and in that wallet was a $100.00 bill. The pres entation was made by Harold Skaffield, trainmaster, Larry Viala, emcee for the evening, called on Bill Hrychuk who, after several tall stories, wished Mr. Ausborn every success in Winnipeg. He told him he would be missed in The Pas and thanked him for all the help he had offered all employees while here. Following the presentation, Bill Huska, representing the Forestry Complex, thanked Mr. Ausborn for putting up” with the several problems at the complex. “No matter when we called, nights or Sundays, he always obliged.” He said he would not wish Mr. Ausborn success because if he treated his customers in Winnipeg as he had here, he would certainly be a success. Mr. Hrychuk also paid tribute to Rusty Johannesson, C.N.R. constable who has been transferred to Hamilton, Ontario. He said he wasn't sure for a minute last week if he was going to Hamilton or Churchill, because his free load car orders came in for Churchill. In his remarks, Mr. Aus born asked what he could say when he was surrounded by a bunch of cutthroats . Ser iously, I haven't met a bet ter bunch of guys anywhere. The thing I have found about the North, the people are th at much friendlier and much Harold Shaffield presenting Mr. Ausborn with his gift. Next to Mr. Ausborn is Larry Viala, master mechanic and em cee for the evening. Mrs. Ausborn; Terry Kane (back) Chef dispatcher and Reg Thomas, trainmaster.
