A remarkable case of parental ob jection to a lover is recorded in the local police court in Burlington, where Lawrence Seibert has brought charges against Edward Miller for breaking and entering his house to steal his daughter's affections. The young man had been forbidden to come to see the girl, but did so and was found secreted in a closet by the mother. The young man is under $300 bond to stand trial on the charge. The young man and woman are devoted to each other. History Day: The curators of the Iowa Historical society have decided to hold an Iowa history day or reunion of pioneer lawmakers in Iowa City during the month of October. It is proposed to have a number of addresses on his torical subjects from prominent Iowa men and the speeches and proceed ings of the reunion will be preserved in a special number of the Historical Record, published by the society.
