it seems as though we are keeping up to metropolitan style, here, even to robberies. Last Saturday evening the Italian section men living in the house on the S. C. south of Maria street were held up and robbed of $150. The loss is heavy on these hard working fellows. Up to this writing no trace of the rob bers has been found. One of the section men put up a fight and cut one of the robbers in the face. Dick Mohler of Lincoln, Tr., visited the H. School family for a few days the past week. The bazaar given by the Ladies Aid of the Presbyterian church ‘Tuesday evening was a grand success socially and financially.The tables were decorated according to the months of the year— quite an idea—and the ladies deserve credit for the artistic arrangement. The Avalon Club gave a farewell din ner in honor of Emil Duwe Saturday evening. Mr. Duwe will leave Friday evening for Arizona to follow up golf un til May when he goes back to the Lome wood Country club. The following officers were elected by Homewood Camp, Modern Woodmen last Friday evening. Fred Gold, Ven erable Consul, 8. D. Whitney, Adviser, Herman Meyer,Clerk; H. Almer, Bank er; John Van Eyle, Manager; Joel Teens tra, Watchman; A. Aberien, Sentry. A committee was appointed to report on a supper for installation night.
