65-Year-Old Man Had Charge of Sewers for 25 Years. Samuel R. Cook, 85, widely-known Bette engineer and for many years in charge of Shecks's sewer sys tem, died this morning at the han; home, 1472 Soul Warren avenue. He had been in poor health for some tme, having suf fered a stroke three years ago, Mr. Gook had made his requence in the Mining city for more than 260 years. For approximately oo quarter of a century We directed construction, repair work and op eration of sewers. He left the em ploy of the city 10 years ago. He later engaged fn concrete construc tion work. Mr. Cook numbered his trends in the hundreds, Wut his ilness prevented, he was an active mem ber in Butterodge, A, FL AM .He was born of Aurora, HL Buringing are tus whlow, Jenne json and daughter-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Blair Cook nf Huntington, W. Va. step-daughter, Mire. Joseph Hotey, and brother-in-law, Henry Murrish, all of Brite. Time and place of funeral will be announeed later. Margaret Brown With many Iciends In attendance, ‘uuneral services were conducted at 4 o'clock this afternoon at the Sherman and Reed mortuary for Mrs. Margaret Brown, pioneer resi dent of this community, Taterment was in Mountain View s cemetery, Rev. Frederick T. Spencer officiated. Mrs. Brown, who lived at Rocker, had made her home in this com munity for more than 60 yeers. She died Tuesday, Mrs. Paul Baller sang “The O16 Bugged Crees, “Nearer My Coo to Thee” Rock of Ages and Beau ffat Isle of Somewhere. George Keogh, Mike Crosby, doin Master, (tty Grater Net] Sneehan and ‘tubert, Ripley were pallbearers, James Madigan Funeral services for James F. Madigan, Duttemia, Were con ducted this morning at St. Pat rick's church where requiem high mass was celebrated. “The cortege formed at Chiggan's Merrill mortuary and proceeded to the church.
