By Register Staff Writer OAK HILL — The two room frame school house on the Salem and Gatewood road was burned to the ground early yesterday morning, and all equipment was destroyed. Damages have been es timated at $4,000. A man living near the school said that the chimney had been built some years ago and that possibly the fire began from flames in the heating stove, igniting some way in the chimney. At the board of education office in Fayetteville it was reported that the school would probably not be rebuilt right away but that the enrollment of about 60 children will be taken care of in other ways, Madeline Thompson is the school principal and Justine Legg was a teacher there.
