W B. Shelby was called to the ( hair, ami Capt. J* M. Smith requested to act a** Secretary. The chairmau briefly explained the object of the meeting.A J 1 rant/, Esq . offered tho following resolution*, which were unanimously adopted :Resolved, That the chairman of this meeting appoiut '30 delegates to the Convention of the Constitutional ITuion Party, to bo held in the city of Jackson on the 15th iusl , to represent this county in said Convention.Resolved, That the interest, safety and welfare of tint whole people of this State imperatively demaud an iuimediate, cordial and hearty co-operation and tit) ion with the National Democratic party.it being tin*only party having the organization and ability t«* overthrow Radicalism, and that our dcle-g.»r* - to i tan Constitutional I’nion Convention he, tiud are hereby instructed to udvo-cut* and urge upon said Convention such an uuion.The foliowitig ibdegates were appointed under the first resolution, to-wit :A Li, Mayers, T.
