A wedding of interest to resi dents of the city took place re cently in Knox Presbyterian Church, Red Deer, when Bon nie Margaret Romeril became the bride of Charles Murray Lewis, Red Deer and formerly of Nova Scotia. The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alf Romeril, Medicine Hat and the groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lewis, Louisbourg, Nova Scotia. The bride was given in mar riage by her father in a cere mony performed by Rev. Doug Fry and, during the service, the couple exchanged engraved wedding rings. For her wedding day, the bride chose a white fortres-crepe street - length dress which she had designed herself. A band of white roses adorned her hair and she carried a white Bible mounted with coral Winter Ab bey roses and white carnations, with cascading buds and streamers. For her only jewel ry she wore an heirloom neck lace of ruby and pearls, which was worn by her grandmother on her wedding day. Mrs. Linda Hughes, matron of honor, of Red Deer, wore a pink, lace - knit, street-length dress and a band of pink baby rosés in her hair. Her bouquet was of white daisies and she wore a single pearl necklace. Monty Hughes, Red Deer, at tended the groom and Dean Romeril, brother of the bride, served as usher. During the signing of the reg ister, organist Lily Cuedet play ed “Hawaiian Wedding Song” and traditional wedding music. At a reception in the Park lander Motor Hotel, a musical bell played, ‘“‘Here Comes the Bride” as Mrs. Lewis enter ed the room, where white can dles and a vase of mums grac ed the head table. The musical, silver wedding bell topped a two - tiered cake which was further decorated with coral roses. Telegrams from Medicine Hat, Louisbourg and Sidnay, N.S. were read and a long distance call came from friends in Prince Edward Island dur ing the reception. Monty Hughes served as master of ceremon ies for the occasion and pro posed a toast to the newlyweds. For a honeymoon in Niagara Falls, Toronto, Boston and Louisbourg, N.S., Mrs. Lewis donned a coral fortres travel ling ensemble with which she chose white accessories and a corsage of white roses.
