The show which was held in town Wednesday night of last week was well attended. Geo. Strawser and wife of Selins grove were the guests of John Hoover and fmaly Friday. Mrs. Dr. Nipple of Sunbury vis ited her aged mother, Mrs. Eve Houser, last week. C. We Stroh was on the retired list last week. Sheets Kelly transacted business at Sunbury Wednesday. Merchant Stroud wife and son, of Herndon passed through town Thursday on their way home from the former's parents at Indepen dence. Jerre Bogur and with, who now reside at Shamokin Dam paid the former’s parents « visit Thursday, Lloyd Speece of Speeceville spent some time last week very pleasantly in town with his French cousin who then accompanied him to Sunbury. As usual our town was well re presented at Aqueduct hollow As cension Day. The day was brighter than it had been for years as not a cloud overshadowed the sky. Two Sunday Schools of that vicinity serv ed refreshments to accomodate the large crowds which had gathered from Snyder, Northumberland, and Juniata counties. There were many happy meetings but just as many sad partings. Mrs. J. D. Bogar is visiting at South Bethlehem. Mires Jennie Schrawder — spent Thursday with friends at Sunbury. Master Russell Knights who spent about a month at Sunbury returned home. Geo. Herrold and wife of Chap man called on the latter’s father, Is rael Charles, Thursday evening. Miss Clara Bingaman went to Phila, Sunday. Jacob Snyder wife and son of Shamokin Dam paid ther many relatives a visit last week. Miss Jennie Charles attended to business at Hickory Corners last week. Edwin Mitterling of Lewisburg spent Sunday with his wife. Mrs. Elwin Mitterling is visiting friends at Selinsgrove this week. Daniel Snyder and wife of Selins grove are staying with their son Jerre this week. James N. Houser was to Selins grove Friday. John Schlegle and wife of Eclipse were in town Monday evening. Stephen Neitz who was doing masonry work at Sunbury the past week has returned home. Misses Carrie and Lettie Reichen bach are spending the week with relatives at Paradise. The United Brethren and United Evangelical Sunday Schools will hold their Children’s Day exercises Sunday evening June 2nd and ‘th respectively. Mrs. A. S. Herrold and son, John, enjoyed a visit to Shamokin last week. They returned home accom panied by the husband and father. Mrs. Jackson Bickle of Independ ent called on her father, Levi Wood ling, last week. Jd. C. Neite who is working at Duncannon spent Sunday with his family. His son, James, resigned his position as clerk in C. W. Knight's store and accompanied his father to the aleve nnnal place where he has secured employment. S. P. Steffen will fit the vacancy in the store. Wilson Haupt of Selinggrove cal led on his mother-in-law, Sasin Stroh, Saturday.
