There was quite a number from here who attended Litchfield Fair, Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 3 and 4. Our gunners have been putting in quite a lot of time the past week in the bay duck shooting and have met with fair success. Some are finding em ployment as guides. Bert Williams and family, who have been living on the Riggs farm, have moved to the Lewis Lucey house in the village. Miss Ida M. Fowle was a recent sup per guest of Mr. and Mrs. John Samp son in Bath. The Methodist Ladies’ aid held an all day session, Friday, with Mrs. Harry Purington at her cottage on the Ding ley road. The Sunshine dinner at Grange hall, Friday, was quite well attended. They cleared over $16. Mr. and Mrs. F. K. Jack passed last week with friends in Litchfield and while there attended the annual fair. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Given of Au burn have been the recent guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Given, and while here enjoyed a day's duck hunting and also in company with his parents and Mrs. W. J. Graves, at tended Litchfield fair. The stated meeting of Electa chap ter, O.E.S., was held at Masonic hall, Monday evening. A fine duck dinner was served at the Hamilton House, Saturday. Miss Evelyn Heath and friend of Al fred passed the weekend with Mrs. Mary Heath. Mrs. Florence Joy and daughter of South Portland were the guests of Mrs. Joy's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fogg, Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. F. K. Jack and friends from Litchfield dined at Brown's diner, Saturday. Chef Berry is putting up some fine meals at this popular diner. Mr. and Mrs. William Sawyer of Au burn were the weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Triple. Walter Read, who is working in Oak land, passed the weekend with his family. The Pleasant Street Bridge club met Monday night with Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Purinton and Miss Mary Lilly at the Lilly farm. A duck supper was served. Miss Pearl Raymond of the B. U. school in Boston passed the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Raymond. Rev. J. N. Palmer and daughter, Alice, left Tuesday on an auto trip to Waterville, Searsport, Bangor and Et na, last week. Jack Brown of West Medford, Mass., was at his camp at Pleasant pond, Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. William Daniels, daugh ter, Dorothy and Mrs. Crocker of Minot were Sunday visitors at Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hackett’s. Miss Georgie Pratt of Gardiner has been passing two weeks with her broth er, Deforest Pratt, and family. Mrs. Nettie Brown of Gardiner was the dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Hackett. Mrs. Kate Smith of Richmond Cor ner came Saturday for a few days’ visit with her brother, I. M. Fowles, and family. Mr. and Mrs. William Raymond of Berlin, N. H., are passing their vaca tion with Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Raymond and family. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Raymond of Portland are visiting at Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Raymond's. Miss Mary Hall was called to Rich mond, Sunday, by the sudden death of her cousin, Guy Farnham. Mr. Farn ham was one of the oldest merchants in town. Miss Virginia Sherman has returned from a week's visit with her sister, Mrs. John Alden, in Auburn. Mrs. Olive Andros of Bath is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Pur ington. The W. S. Given Co. is putting in the Winter supply of coal at the Coombs high school. Earle Browne is doing quite a business entertaining duck gunners. He has about all he can accommodate. Mr. Browne does a good business in this line each year. Frank Heath has been on the sick list the past week under care of Dr. Free man of Richmond. Dr. and Mrs. John Curtis of Orange Heights, Fla., who have been Summer ing in Richmond, Mr. and Mrs. Don Stevens of Belgrade and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Randall of Richmond were Monday callers at Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Randall's. Charles Earl of Brunswick was a bus iness visitor in town, Monday. H. P. Randall of Portland visited his brother, Hon. C. B. Randall, Sunday. Dan Cornish is at present stopping at the home of Chris Landry. The men members of the Richmond Corner Farm Bureau visited Oct. 5th, in the afternoon the farm of W. H. Gould, where County Agent Charles L. East man supervised the installation of a septic tank. The Bridge club met, Thursday, with Miss Emily Rideout. The regular noon luncheon was served. Mrs. Jane Hall Browne held the highest score. Mr. and Mrs. Erland Curtis are re ceiving congratulations on the birth of a son, which arrived at the home of Mrs. Marjorie Lord, R.N., in Richmond, Mr. and Mrs. John Marin returned, Monday, from a week's visit at Cape Cod, Mass.
