By Ryan Crocker The Town of Beausejour has brought in $5,103,413.63 as of Sept. 30 of this year. In the same time, the town has spent $4,804,747.42. Council budgeted $6,270,745.39 in revenues and expenditures for the fiscal year. The Town of Beausejour's utility - its water and sewer service - has brought in $211,019.28 as of Sept. 30 of this year while $381,706.16 has been spent. A total of $590,112.37 was budgeted for the fiscal year. Council declares BRCF Awareness Week Council passed a resolution declaring Nov. 8-14 to the Brokenhead River Community Foundation Awareness Week, its third annual week. As you are aware, we are a non-profit organization which raises funds, the interest from which is used to give grants, scholarships and bursaries in the Town of Beausejour and the Rural Municipality of Brokenhead, Val Jackson explained in a letter penned on behalf of President Len Kolton. Town hires ice technician Beausejour council has authorized the town to hire Daryl Prytula as a seasonal ice techni cian for the Sun Gro Centre. An employment contract between the two parties will be signed and it is consistent with other employment contracts offered to municipal employees not covered by a collective agreement. Beausejour, Brokenhead continue to grow As of Sept. 20 of this year, a total of 125 building permits were issued for Beausejour and Brokenhead. In Beausejour, 41 building permits were issued, include 13 for the construction of new homes and three for the construction of multiple-family homes, including condominiums. Three permits for commercial construction were issued as well. In Brokenhead, 84 building permits were issued, including 29 in the LUD of Tyndall- Garson. This included 20 for the construction of new homes, with 11 of those in the LUD and nine in rural areas. One permit for commercial construction was issued as well.
