Assabet Savings Bank Elects Three TrusteesMAYNARD — At the Sep* tember meeting of the*f rustees of the Assabet Institution for Savings, Maynard , the Board of Trustees elected three local men to the management board. Trustees of Mutual Savings Banks form the core of management decision and policy. The Trustee represents this unique non-stock mutual savings institution representing its depositors with responsibility of maintaining up-dated banking services including high-interest paying savings account, low-cost Savings Bank Life Insurance, Home Financing and consumer- typeloaning.First elected was Arthur J, Brooks of Whitney Street Maynard, a civic-minded twenty-four year resident of Maynard. A graduate of Special Studies, Personnel Management, Boston College Mr. Brooks received the 1969Superior AccomplishmentAward from the U. S. Postal Service which he has been associated with for the past twenty years. Elected to Assabet Savings Bank’s Corporator Board in 1961 Mr. Brooks has served on several Maynard town boards including - the original organization group and member of the Personnel Board. Other civic posts have included the Board of Appeals, Government Study, Welfare, and Maynard Little League. Married to the former Miss Fatvala of Maynard Mr. Brooks is the father of three children. He served in both World War II, and the Korean Conflict.Gage Russellin 1961. Elected as Corporator in 1962 Mr. Russell has served the bank in several levels of management. A graduate of Worcester School of Business , and the Brown University Graduate School of Savings Banking Mr, Russell currently serves as a member of the Hudson Board of Assessors.Arthur BrooksSecond elected was Gage W. Russell of 49 Old Bolton Road Hudson, where he resides with his wife the former Elaine W. Drechsler of Stow and their three children. Currently serving as Treasurer df Assabet*1* * Savings Bank he joined the Assabet Institutiion for SavingsVictor TomylThird election was the well known Victor A. Tomyl of 68 Powder Mill Rd., Maynard, where he resides with wife Marion and their five children. A graduate of the Maynard High and the New England institute Mr. Tomyl is the owner of Hawes Florist Shop which he has operated in Maynard since 1960. Serving with the famous First Marine Division during the Korean Conflict Mr. Tomyl continues his civic pride by being a past President of the Maynard Chamber of Commerce, and serving on the Finance Committee. Elected Corporator of Assabet Savings Bank in 1972 he brings to the trustee group an awareness of need and pride of community service offered by its local Mutual Savings Bank.
