11 Year Old Boy Proudly Identifies Photographs of Chiro practor’s Automobile; Tells Straightforward Story Identical With Older Sister’s. St. Paul, Oct. 26 (UP)—Two chil dren, star witnesses for the prose cution, were introduced today in the trial of Dr. W. H. Hedberg, charged with first degree assault on Dr. E. J. Engberg, in district court here. The children were William Sweeney, 11, and his sister, Theresa, 13, who saw two motor cars near the house to which Engberg was lured on the night of his beating last July. The prosecution is at tempting to show that the machines seen belonged to Hedberg and Eng berg. The assault was the beginning of a Strange sequence in which Dr. Engberg was asked to perform a mutilating surgical operation. He was etherized when he refused and left unconscious in Hedberg’s auto mobile parked on a railroad track just as a passenger train came along. He escaped death under the train's wheels when the machine slid back from the track and was hit only a glancing blow. Dr. Engberg persisted in his iden tification of Dr. Hedberg as the as sailant in the two hour cross-exa mination before the children were called. William barely four feet tall and frankly proud of his new long trous ers identified photographs of Hed berg’s automobile as being similar to one he saw parked near the house at about 7:30 p. m. He testified that went he went by again at about 9:30 p. m. another automobile was driven up which did not resemble the photographs shown him. It was pointed out that Hed berg’s machine is a coach and Eng berg’s a sedan. William was cheerfully alert in answering questions from the two attorneys and told a straight for ward story which was in exact agreement with that told by his sis ter.
