Brig General Leslie J. West berg, USAF, national comman der of the Civil Air Patrol, vis ited Hensley Field recently to Jail deface. A temporary resident of the Grand Prairie jail has been charged with destruction of city property for scratching a four inch “Star of David’’ on his bunk. Police reports show the man was found about 11:45 a.m. Tuesday drawing the Jewish symbol on the south end of his bunk in cell number five at the jail. He was advised to refrain from doing that, the report adds, and told he would be charged with destruction of city property, inspect CAP facilities. The inspection was primarily to determine the amount of dam age sustained by CAP installa tions in a recent fire. Gen. Westberg was interest ed in determining how well the squadron, named one of the most outstanding in the Texas Wing last year, was coping with the situation. He was complimentary of the local community and the work by Crusader candels in restoring near-normal activities in new quarters. The general also was briefed on the mission flown over the Labor Day weekend by the Civil Air Patrol in coo peration with the Department of Public Safety. Preliminary analysis by the group shows that the goal of the mission, that of providing the police with information ond traffic flow and problems, was a suc cess. Gen. Westberg has returned to the National Civil Air Patrol Headquarters at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama. St. James and Ascension parishes in South Louisiana form the Acadian Coast, named for the historic settle ment of that area along the Mississippi River by Acadian exiles from Canada.
