Ensign Laurence M. Kane, a jet pilot in the U. S. Naval Reserve, was recently promoted to a tenant, junior grade, and made an honorary supply officer of his squadron. He is completing a six months tour of duty in the Mediter ranean area aboard the aircraft carrier Coral Sea. In writing of his promotion, Gionn Estes, Jr., commander of U. S. Navy, said ‘Larry’s perform ance of duty, both in his flying and administratively, has alsv. been excellent. I believe I have one of the finest squadrons in the navy and young men like Larry help to make it so.’ A brother, Lt. Cmdr. John C ane, Jr. U. S. N., also a flyer, is iinidad, B. W. 1, for the past several months, has been transferred to Cocs Sole, Naval Air Station, Canal Zone. Both young men are former Tron wood residents.
