Thonh a lawyer by prov fession, he seldom practiced not the bar, preferring oter paranits, he received a thorough endemic education, found in prit off by a course at the Troy polytechnics Institute and another at the Poughkeepsie in School Mr. Seston’s father was a member of the society of friends, and won distinction in the old slavery days as an abolition ist, in connection with the system of aid extended to fugitives from xergier, via the “underground railroad,” on ce to which he was a “station waster.” A better nomination for state treasurer could hardly have been made Alan that of Mr. Sexton.
