Humboldt Youth Gets Ensign’s CommissionWashington,. Dec. 13 CAP)—Five Kansans were among this month's naval reserve midshipmen class of 366 graduated after a three-months intensive training course at Northwestern University, Chicago.The graduates are ccinmissioned as ensigns in the U. 3 Naval reserve. Most of them, the navy’s announcement said, have requested active duty with the U,; 8- fleet.The Kansans:Leslie L. Hutchinson*? Lawrence; Edmond M. Jacoby, Wichita: Edward K. Olsen, Bonher Springs; Harold Ernest Penner, Wichita; and James M. Shaffer, Humboldt.
